When Bandai-Asia reissued of Souchaku-Henshin Kuuga series, they went on and modified the molds to produced some of the figures that was never produced by Bandai Japan. This practice would continued when Bandai-Asia reissued Souchaku-Henshin Agito Series. Kamen Rider Exceed Gills was produced and released by Bandai-Asia exclusively for Hong Kong market. (The toy was later imported back to Japan as Chogokin SHS GD-51 - see sidebar).

Exceed version of Masked Rider Gills was produced from heavily modified parts of standard SH Gills figure. The shoulder and wrist armors had added black "wings" and newly molded soft plastic piece that wrap around the chest armor.  Exceed Gills came with plastic wrist armors (with Gills Claw) and also two removable "Heel Claws" for his feet. The figure also came with a pair of "Gills Stinger" that can be attached to the rear armor by removing the two small plugs (on the orange wrap around part). The belt was the only other die-cast part beside the chest armor.

Exceed Gills Set (HK Ver.)

Bandai-Asia re-issued the Souchaku-Henshin Masked Rider Agito series toys for Hong Kong market, they also produced some of the versions that were not produced by Bandai Japan. One of the new figure produced for HK market was Exceed Gills. The figure came package in the smaller HK style packaging.

 

GD-51 (c.2003)

 Bandai Japan later released this figure for Japan market under Chogokin Masked Rider Agito SH Series GD-51 Exceed Gills in 2003. The packaging was the same as HK version but with added GD-51 and TOEI seal of approval.

Naked Mode

The core body was similar style body used since the original Saint Seiya Cloth line which made it a little dated by today standard. However, this was one of the aspect that drawn me to this line. The ability to "henshin" into the Rider form made these SH figures a lot like small version of Henshin Cyborg and RAH costume hero. While the head, as usual was too small in human form, it was at least sculpt to represent Asihara Rye (Gills human form).

Weapon Accessories

 Exceed Gills came with a pair of Gills Stingers. The Stingers were made from PVC and can be attached to the back Exceed Gills armors. (See picture on the left). The wrist armors had Gills Claw built in.
