MASKED RIDER GLAIVE

GD-86 Kamen Rider Blade King Form is released by Bandai in June of 2005 along with GD-87 Kamen Rider Glaive. King Form of Masked Rider Blade and Masked Rider Glaive were both from the Blade Movie special - Missing Ace. It has been an on going practice with Bandai and Toei to do "one-off" special characters to be feature in the movie and debut new power-up form of the main Rider from the current show. The movie "Missing Ace" is set four years after the event in the TV series, the undeads have again been unsealed and Blade, Garren and Leangle are called back into action. However, there are new generation of Riders - Glaive, Lance and Larc that join in the battle.

Glaive is one of the three "next gen" Kamen Riders that appear in the "Missing Ace" movie. The core body is the new 2004-2005 body but with several remold parts specifically for this released. Glaive design echo much of the other three Riders from Blade series but with new element thrown in such as the prominent "Ace" symbol and the cyclopean-eye in the form of diamond suit (as oppose to the bulb bug eyes of the original three Blade Series Riders). The new Riders are nice design but a bit bland in comparison to Blade King Form or even to the old Rider from the TV series. The armors for Glaive fit really well to the core body with excellent paint job. The figure come with sword with optional part to display the cards in closed or open position.

Bandai released GD-87 Masked Rider Blade Glaive in June of 2005. (Retail price 2000 Yen)

Unmasked Mode

Like other SH Riders figures, the human body underneath can look out of proportion and is solely intended for display with the "cloth" (Rider Armor) on. The core body is similar in style as the body used since the original Saint Seiya Cloth line, however for the 2004 SH line, Bandai have retooled the body to make it more modern. While the head still appears too small due to having to accommodate the mask, this removable "armor suit" however, is one of the aspect that drawn me to this line. The ability to "henshin" into the Rider form make these SH figures a lot like small version of Henshin Cyborg or the RAH costume hero.

The figure can be display without the mask.

Accessories

Glaive come with his Rouse Sword and Rouse cards. (The cards are just small plastic chips with stickers that have to be apply on them).
