HIBIKI

Bandai released Masked Rider Hibiki in March of 2005 as part of Kamen Rider Hibiki Series. Hibiki which means "echo demon" is an "Oni" fighter and a part of secret organization called Takeshi that fight against monsters called Makano. Hibiki is, of course the main Masked Rider of the show. He is a fire element demon with "taiko" (Japanese drum) as his weapon. Hibiki and the rest of the Riders from the show look unlike any of the previous Riders. As a stand alone design, Hibiki is actually not a bad looking tokusatsu, however as a Kamen Rider he is probably one of the worst looking Kamen Rider in the franchise history.

SH Kamen Rider Hibiki uses all new core body designed specifically for the series. Unlike other Souchaku, Hibiki does not have wrap around metal armor instead the metal parts are the die-cast strap that plug into the body. The Riders from Hibiki probably have the least "chogokin" contents of all the Souchaku Henshin figures. The figure is well constructed with nice paint job. The parts fit nicely and the plug in armor pieces stay on quite nicely on the figure. Hibiki comes with several accessories including his trademark drum stick weapon, the CD player tuning fork, and miniature animal discs.

Unmasked Mode

Like other SH Riders figures, the human body underneath can look out of proportion and is solely intended for display with the "cloth" (Rider Armor) on. The core body is similar in style as the body used since the original Saint Seiya Cloth line, however for the 2004 SH line, Bandai have retooled the body to make it more modern. While the head still appears too small due to having to accommodate the mask, this removable "armor suit" however, is one of the aspect that drawn me to this line. The ability to "henshin" into the Rider form make these SH figures a lot like small version of Henshin Cyborg or the RAH costume hero.

Accessories

Hibiki comes with his Ongekibu (Drum Sticks) and tuning fork (Onkagu) and miniature animal discs (Onishinigami).
