 SIDE BASSHAR

Bandai released Masked Rider Faiz Series SB-913V Side Basshar in 2003 as part of the Faiz toy line along with SB-555V Autovajin. These were the DX Rider Machine style bikes similar to the Masked Rider bikes released for Kuuga and Agito series in the previous years. However, since there were no Souchaku Henshin figures for Faiz series at that time, the two bikes were pretty much a stand alone products until recently when Bandai began reviving Souchaku Henshin series and released Faiz and Kaixa in 2004. Side Basshar was the bike used by Kaixa in Masked Rider 555 TV show. In the show, the bike was able to transform into a walker-type mecha for Kaixa. Side Basshar was the first Masked Rider bike with sidecar.

The DX version of Side Basshar however was non-transformable, actually it does very little else beside rolling on the floor and look very pretty. (Bandai did release a transformable version of Side Basshar for the S-RFH line, a 6" action-figures line for Masked Rider Faiz series which Bandai released instead of Souchaku Henshin in 2003).  DX Side Basshar was very well sculpted and pretty heavy (it seem to have a die-cast core) and was definitely scaled well for the 5" Souchaku Henshin figure. The toy had ample of chrome parts which looked really good against the already striking looking black and yellow color scheme of the bike. Side Basshar, like Autovajin, had very little play feature beside being semi-realistic looking (to the TV show) and extra smooth rolling wheels. The sidecar for some reason was made too shallow to put in another figure, however, there was enough space to store Kaixa Smart Brain briefcase that came with SH Kaixa figure. The toy came with PVC figure fixed pose figure of Masked Rider Kaixa that can be removed. Since the toy came out a little while ago and is now out of production, it might take sometimes to locate. I found this particular one on sale at HLJ.

Packaging

Side Basshar was sold in window box. The bike came with a fix-pose PVC figure that can be removed so the bike can be used with Souchaku Henshin series. The packaging graphic art was done in the same style as the rest of Faiz line with Smart Brain logo prominently featured.
