Palisades Retro Micronauts series 2 were released in July of 2003. The second series consisted of four different small figures and two larger magno figures. The two magno were Red Falcon and Emperor & Megas.  Both Red Falcon and Emperor saw only limited released toward the end of Micronauts line in the early 1980's by GIG in Italy. Series 2 Micronauts were produced by the same factory that produced series 1.5 and these were definitely a great improvement over the series 1 toys. There were still some issues especially with Emperor and Mega but overall the toys were much better than the series 1. Red Falcon were sold as part of the regular series 2, and Emperor and Megas were sold as Palisades Fan Club exclusives much like the Force Commander from series 1. Emperor and Mega were sold only in a set of three thus made the set very expensive especially after adding in the cost of joining Palisades Fan Club. There were three color variants for Retro Emperor and Megas - vintage style color scheme, clear green (sort of a reverse of the vintage colors and probably the best looking of the three) and off-white with purple chrome (somewhat unusual scheme for Micro toys but appropriate since purple was considered color of royalty and he was the Emperor of the Micronauts.)

Retro Micronauts Emperor & Mega came in a  green Palisades Micronauts box with beautiful artwork sticker insert by Dave Dorman.

Megas (White & Purple)

Emperor & Megas came from the same molds as Palisades series 1 magno Baron Karza and Force Commander. The figures overall were much better this time around but still suffered from many of the problem that plaque the first series. Some of the notable problems were the poor fitting of the magno joints, the very loose arms joints and stress crack on clear green version of Megas. This was quite unfortunate since the set was very expensive to obtain and these problems were thought to have been fixed. On the up side, the plastic used were much better quality than the first series and there was very little report of missing parts or mismatch parts. Beside the standard accessories, Emperor came with his gauntlet and sword and cape. The cape had been redesigned, instead of the vinyl cape used in the vintage, the new version came with a cloth cape. Palisades also commissioned a new accessory for Emperor; a vinyl mantle piece called "Imperial Battle Armor" design by Micro Bry. The new accessory fit over the body and gave Emperor even more sinister appearance.  The mantle came with 5mm socket on each side and can be used to mount the missile launchers.

Emperors with the new cloth capes. The purple cape was custom version made by Collette B. who actually designed the cape for Palisades Emperor.
