ZEONOGRAPHY #3003 MS-05B/MS-06C Zaku II (Ramba Ral's Custom) came in the similar packaging design as the GFF series. The major changes were the replacement of Gundam face with the gray and black stripe background, the white lettering (instead of black) and the added ZEONOGRAPHY logo.

ZEONOGRAPHY

ZEONOGRAPHY series was an off-shoot series from Gundam Fix Figuration (GFF) line. As the title implied, the new series was to focus on the Principality of Zeon's Mobile Suits based of course on the visions of Katoki Hajime.  This series' sub-title was "Expanded Edition of Gundam FIX Figuration" and the design and concept clearly followed those that had been established by FIX series. The series was basically a way to add Zeon Mobile Suits to the FIX line-up so if you are a fan of FIX line and Zeon Mobile Suits design then this series will not disappointed.

The third offering in the ZEONOGRAPHY series was the very first Zaku model - MS-05 series. This early model of Zaku was originally design as front line combat unit but was quickly replaced by Zaku II MS-06. Like other FIX series, the figure had dual identity and MS-05B can be reconfigured into the later MS-06C Zaku II also in Ramba Ral's blue color scheme. Though Ramba Ral's never get to own MS-06C this is what it would have look like. The figure came with more accessories than the previous offering of Zaku. #3003 came with two version of machine gun, older version for Zaku I and newer Zaku II model, a giant bazooka and Ramba Ral's custom Heat Hawk.

ZEONOGRAPHY figures had the same high quality that one came to expect from the FIX series.  The alternate mode transformation was done by swapping in the entirely different parts instead of using the added-on armor method. The part swap method gave the figure much more stability and a more seamless design. The paint jobs were well done with super-details decoration including Ramba Ral insignia on the right shoulder of Zaku I. The figure had decent articulations for Zaku figure, even the head can moved up and down and the inner head eye can be reposition. The 'Cyclops' eye lens of Zaku II was made from clear pink plastic 'jewel' instead of painted on like most other Zaku figure which was a very nice touch and made the figure look more realistic. Overall, I find the outdated but classic model of Zaku I to be the best part of  ZEONOGRAPHY #3003. I always like this early version of Zaku and it was nice to have one in FIX format.

MS-05 ZAKU I was the first truly mass produced mobile suit for the Principality of Zeon. this early model of Zaku was originally design as front line combat unit but was quickly replaced by Zaku II MS-06. Only about 27 unit was produced of the MS-05A which was a trial run unit, upon feedback MS-05B was introduced and the B model became the first true mass production Mobile Suit by the Principality of Zeon with over 800 units came out of the production line. The A and B versions were virtually identical from the external appearances and only differences were engine and cockpit. When Zaku II was introduced, MS-05B was relegate to second line combat unit and support role, however, many such as this custom version that belong to Ramba Ral remained in combat.
