Micro Heritage - Palisades Retro Micronauts Series

AGE current holder of US Micronauts licensed, granted Palisades toys the license to produce new Micronauts toys in 2002. Palisades released the new line, dubbed the Retro Micronauts in late 2002. The first series included many of the old favorites such as Time Traveler, Space Glider and even the big Magno Baron Karza. Unfortunately the first series was plaque with many production problems and the new Micronauts debuted with less than spectacular showing. Palisades moved the production to new factory and produced the interim series called the 1.5. Series 1.5 included four figures from the first series with new color variants. Series 1.5 was sold only via Palisades web site and through the Palisades fan club store. Palisades decided to continue with the series 2 despite the set back of series 1 and plan yet another Retro Micronauts series for 2003. However, the line never quite fully recover from the first series poor quality control and that coupled with slow down of the collectible market Palisades had decided at this time to not pursuit series 3 which was originally plan to be all new designs of the old toys.

Retro Micronauts

Micronauts was licensed Microman toys released in the US and the rest of the world by Mego Corporation in 1977. The line was one of Mego most successful toys line and continued to be produced even after Mego's demise in early 1980's. Palisades Retro series was produced under licensed by AGE Corporation who held the current US license of Micronauts toys. The new series of toys were produced with help from many long time fans on Microman / Micronauts mailing list - Micropolis Embassy Group.
